An aquatic trailing plant, grown either semi-submerged or fully submerged in the water is a well-known species of coloring plant. When fully submerged, the leaves range from deepest green to brownish red or deep red. The top of the leaves is normally in an olive green hue, and those within the undersides are reddish.
Ludwigia can actually grow both in and out of the water. If left to float, Ludwigia may grow above the surface. As long as you trim regularly, this can contribute to a very unique look.
